Dale Nelson -President Dale Nelson is originally from Hanover Park, Illinois, and is a graduate of Northern Illinois University with a B.S. in business management, with minors in finance and economics. He relocated to the Tampa Bay area in 1973, where he was hired by a Tampa developer/contracting firm owned by Red McConnohie. Nelson progressed through the McConnohie organization becoming V.P. And Operating Manager of the Custom Industrial Parks of Pasco Division. Dale completed the development, lot sales and design build construction of this 80- acre Industrial Park plus other outside construction. Dale continued his involvement in commercial and industrial construction, creating his own real estate brokerage firm and later became Director of Sales for another large Tampa construction company, APCO Building Systems, Inc. During this time, Dale got several years of first hand experience in repairing catastrophic building failures resulting from hurricane Hugo’s destruction in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. In 1990, Red and Dale formed Roof Hugger, Inc. To develop and market a revolutionary new sub-purlin system for retro- fitting existing metal buildings. Dale is a licensed Class “A” General Contractor, licensed St. Croix General Contractor and a licensed Florida Real Estate Broker.
