Lineal Footage The lineal footage of Roof Hugger that you need to have quoted will be based on the total lineal footage of existing roof purlins plus any additional Huggers at mid-span between existing purlins. This is usually required to meet governing building code requirements for wind uplift pressures at the roof’s corner and edge zones. Your panel manufacturer can help you with this by providing a “Clip Analysis” or attachment spacing if the new roof is a thru-fastened system. Roof Hugger is not responsible for engineering or design as may be required to comply with any governing Building Code. However, Roof Hugger can provide a preliminary design based on various manufacturer’s wind uplift testing and include special framing for these areas of the roof. This service can only be used for quote purposes and prior to ordering the Huggers, you should contact your roof panel manufacturer to confirm that the estimate meets their requirements. Please see our standard Roof Hugger CAD details also on our website, for special considerations when attaching to the existing roof panel between purlins. Our Design & Installation Guide discusses the methods for satisfying these roof zones beginning on pages 19-24. |
